The article doesn't say what kind of scientists are behind the study. It seems logically flawed to me to point to two converging lines on a graph and conclude that they *inevitably* will cross each other. They say "if the trend continues," but the only trend shown is a narrowing gap, which wouldn't tell you diddley about whether the gap will eventually be reversed or, conversely, whether the difference in mens' and womens' times is merely converging on a limit -- or so I would think, although I don't have the background in calculus or analysis to explain why I think so.
