  • Unlike James Lileks, I resent very strongly that I can't use music that I've purchased from iTunes in any manner that I see fit, because I am not a follower in the cult of iPod. Thomas Slattery must share my resentment, as he's sued Apple for antitrust violations based upon how Apple ties iTunes audio to the iPod. Good on 'im.
  • A Marine sniper with the unlikely name of Herbert Hancock has recorded the longest confirmed kill so far in Iraq, dropping two terrorists from 1,050 yards away.  Had this item been a post on its own (and it certainly would merit such treatment), it would have been called "Killing terrorism from more than 1,000 yards," a quote from Sgt. Hancock's spotter.  Keep on keeping your unit safe, men.  (Link via Ace of Spades.)
  • I'm an asshole, too, Michele, and proud of it for precisely the reasons you mentioned.  I thank you for fighting the good fight along with me.
  • Holy shit!  It's October 1, 2004 again:  Kerry rails Bush, in front of troops in Baghdad no less, for "horrendous judgments" and "unbelievable blunders" in Iraq.  Move on, you effin' loser (hey, "move on" has a nice ring to it, no?  I wonder if that slogan's taken . . .).  (Link via LGF.)
  • WATFO:  Runner's World finds that strenuous hill running will make you a better runner.
  • More evidence that a University of Miami education is truly top-notch:  a sober Sean Taylor was unable to recite the alphabet through the letter "O" during a field sobriety test.  Amazingly, one of the letters he missed is in his first name, and the other appears twice in the name of his precious alma mater.
  • A giant tortoise has adopted a baby hippo in a Kenyan sanctuary.  The hippo would have been killed if it had been placed with another herd, so they put him in with the tortoise, and now they're best friends.  I love shit like this.

» The Unending Campaign: Kerry Trashes Bush For Baghdad Troops from Ace of Spades HQ
Unbelievable: Visiting with U.S. troops in Baghdad on Thursday, failed presidential candidate John Kerry trashed Commander-in-chief George Bush for making "horrendous judgments" and "unbelievable blunders" that have undermined the war effort. In a seri... [Read More]
