I grew up in Painesville, Ohio, which is about 30 miles east of Cleveland. I currently reside in a small town near Columbus, Ohio.
I fancy myself socially liberal and fiscally conservative (how novel, I know). With apologies to John Grisham, I favor the individual over government, yet I favor the environment over everything. Go figure. I find nothing hypocritical about the fact that, despite what my tagline suggests, I'm a carnivore who loves animals.
I am a graduate of the two finest universities in the world: Miami University and the University of Notre Dame. I'm a lawyer who doesn't practice. I practiced for a while, and it sucked. I miss the writing and critical thinking, though, so this blog provides that outlet. This is where I can write for me (and you, to be completely honest) about things that interest me. While I try to put thought (such as I can) into my posts, the writing here is intended to be "off-the-cuff." Apologies in advance for typos and bad grammar.
